Fact-Checking

Fact-checking on Immigration World is intended to reduce the risk of mistakes for readers. Immigration information may change quickly, and misinterpreting requirements may lead to refusal, delayed application, unnecessary expenses or choosing the wrong application basis.

We separately review information about applicant requirements, application bases, documents, translations, apostille or legalization, processing times, expenses, work rights, status renewal, pathways to permanent residence or citizenship, rules for family members and refusal reasons.

If exact timelines, amounts, fees or requirements are not confirmed, we do not present them as established facts. In such cases, we use cautious wording such as “may be required”, “usually requested”, “the exact list depends on the application basis” and “processing times depend on the authority and completeness of documents”.

Priority sources include official authority websites, consulates, embassies, government portals, published guidance and legal materials. Supporting sources include open registries, reference resources and professional publications. Reviews, forums and commercial websites are used with limitations: they may provide context, but they do not verify legally significant requirements by themselves.

We aim to review materials at least once every 3 months. If rules change earlier or a reader reports a possible inaccuracy through the contact page, a material may be checked outside the scheduled review. Messages are reviewed by Maria Samoilova within up to 5 business days.

When updating a material, we may clarify a document list, replace outdated amounts or timelines, remove an unsupported claim, add a risk warning, update information about work rights or correct information about an immigration company.

FAQ

Why do articles not always include exact timelines and amounts?

Processing times, fees and requirements may change and depend on the country, application basis and authority. If data is not confirmed, we use cautious wording.

Are reviews used as a source?

Reviews may be used only as additional context. They do not verify legally significant requirements and are not used as the only basis for evaluation.

How often are materials updated?

We aim to review materials at least once every 3 months and may also check them outside the schedule if rules change or an error is reported.
